Kirsty Taylor founded Uniquely Organic in 2008 after completing a BSc degree in cosmetic science where she wrote her final dissertation project on a topic very close to her heart, the organic cosmetic industry. This enabled Kirsty to gain a greater understanding of how chemical-riddled beauty products negatively affect the body as a whole. As a result, Kirsty decided to combine her training in beauty and holistic therapies with a completely organic product base to offer her clients an organic alternative to conventional treatments. And so... Uniquely Organic was born.

National Baby Massage Week!

We are celebrating national baby massage week from the 14th May – 19th May.
Our very own therapist Sophie Annett has trained in baby massage and has classes starting on Sunday 13th and Monday 14th of May, if you book onto our baby massage course you will receive a 10% discount in support of this national promotional week.

The whole basis of this course is on the nurturing touch and communication from mother to child. The point is to enhance the bonding process plus, as the babies brain is developing so fast at this stage, introducing positive touch and relaxation is incredibly important for their later life.

There are so many benefits both mother and child can receive from participating in this course. Some are the benefits are as follows;
  • ·         Interaction-probably most important it enhances the bond between baby and parent massively (amazing if there's any kind of post-natal depression.) Touch in this way encourages release of oxytocin in parent and child which is the chemical released by the mother at birth that makes her bond with the baby.

  • ·         Stimulation- baby massage stimulates the baby’s body systems; muscular, digestive, neurological and respiratory and is so amazing for baby’s development physically and mentally.

  • ·         Interaction-massage encourages and enhances communication between the parent and child as the whole practice is based on reading your baby's cues. This can go on to lead a greater understanding between the parent and child.

  • ·          Relief – baby massage can offer amazing relief from colic, digestive disorders and teething pain.

·         Baby massage gives the mother time to herself with the baby, a greater understanding, enhances the bond and a feeling of getting to know her baby on a different level.
Parents will be the only ones in contact with their baby throughout the duration of the course. Sophie will use a demonstration doll to show all the movements enabling you to practise and then go to use the techniques with your babies.

Our next course begins on the 13th and 14th of May and runs for 5 consecutive weeks. Book now for your place!
